WATERTOWN, NY — Leonard M. Heim, 79, Watertown, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 18, at the home of his daughter while under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
He is survived by his wife Janet Heim; daughter Robbin (Scott Thackston) Heim, Dexter; his grandchildren Michael French, Rob, Sara and John Thackston; 4 great-grandchildren; his sister Laura Walburn and brother, Ralph “Sonny” Heim.
Besides his parents Leonard was predeceased by his siblings, Charlotte Snyder, Isobel Dutton, Doris Rebuck and Warren Heim.
Leonard was born Aug. 4, 1939, in Trevorton, PA, a son to Jerre W. and Verna Latsha Heim. Upon his honorable discharge from the US Army Corps in 1959 he went to work as a papermaker for Champion Paper Mill.
Mr. Heim enjoyed working on vehicles and collecting knives.
He loved his dogs and the summer months.
Per his wishes there will be no services.
