Lewis County Public Health confirms 4th positive case, person hospitalized outside the county

LOWVILLE, NY —  Lewis County Public Health announces that the fourth case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Lewis County April 3, 2020.

Health officials are currently investigating this case and identifying and contacting all individuals who have been in contact with the positive case.

Individuals identified as having contact will be placed in quarantine for 14 days and monitored by public health officials daily.

The positive case is currently hospitalized and in isolation in an acute care facility outside of Lewis County.

There is no known connection to the other 3 cases here in Lewis County.

Lewis County Public Health encourages the community to continue to protect themselves, their families and neighbors by following public health guidance as follows:

ï‚· Stay home and only leave for essential tasks and essential work.
ï‚· Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
ï‚· Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at least daily.
ï‚· Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
