Lois E. Mundy, 87, formerly of Copenhagen

COPENHAGEN, NY — Lois E. Mundy, 87, formerly of Copenhagen, died Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility in Lowville.

Born Oct. 8, 1931, in Plainfield, NJ, the daughter of the late Clifford and Florence (Cashin) Montross, she was a graduate of North Plainfield High School.

She married Roger E. Mundy Sr. on April 29, 1950, in Warren, NJ. Lois was a waitress in her early years. The couple moved to Northern New York in 1972. Together with her husband Roger, they operated the family farm in Copenhagen. Roger died on November 29, 2005.

She is survived by one daughter: Linda L. Hancock of Deer River, two sons: Roger E. Mundy Jr. and Marcia of Copenhagen and Ronald E. Mundy and Darlene of Liverpool, 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, three sisters: Florence Presler of Naples, NY, Jessica Kain of Warren, NJ and Margaret Krukoff of Chittenango, one brother: Clifford Montross of New Jersey and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Fred Hancock, great-grandchildren, Paige Hancock and Kole Hayden, a sister, Nancy McLaughlin and two brothers, Bobbie and Fred Montross.

Lois has graciously donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. The family will hold services privately.
