Lou Anne Drake, 62, Clayton

CLAYTON, NY — Lou Anne Drake, 62, Clayton, passed away Saturday morning, May 11, 2019, at Hospice of Jefferson County, Watertown.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton. A prayer service will be held 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at the funeral home followed by the 11 a.m. funeral Mass celebrated at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Arthur J. LaBaff, pastor, presiding. Burial will be in Sandy Hollow Cemetery, Philadelphia, NY. A celebration of her life will be at the Knights of Columbus, Clayton starting at 2:30 p.m. after the burial.

Lou Anne was born Sept. 15, 1956, in Watertown, the daughter of Lewis J. and Joyce Garnsey Badour, she was a graduate of Thousand Islands High School.

On June 28, 1974, she married Leslie E. Drake at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Euclid Marier officiating.

She had worked in several restaurants in the 1000 Islands area, including the T. I. Inn, Clayton. Lou Anne was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, was a Eucharistic Minister, and also taught first grade religious education. She was a member of the T. I. Booster Club, PTA, and served on the committee for the Christmas in July parade. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her family.

Along with her husband, Leslie, Lou Anne is survived by her father and his wife, Lewis J. and Sheila H. Badour, Clayton; mother-in-law, Madeline E. Drake, Philadelphia; two sons and their wives, Richard L. and Susan Drake, Wellesley Island and Jason L. and Heidi Drake, LaFargeville; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; four siblings and their spouses, Steven D. and Carol Ann Badour, Donald S. and Debbie Badour, Susan B. and Rexal Ellsworth, and Michael J. and Jean Badour, all of Clayton; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Candy and Danny Dwyer, Theresa, Susan and Bruce Jenne, Philadelphia, and Karen and Randy Clarke, Antwerp; and a large extended family.

She was predeceased by her mother, Joyce Badour, her father-in-law, Richard Leslie Drake, and grandson, Bentley Drake.
