Lowville man facing charges after domestic incident, police say

LOWVILLE, NY —  Aaron J. Tackett, 24, of South State Street, Lowville, was charged Thursday morning, Nov. 28, by the Lowville Village Police Department with second-degree harassment, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

“It is alleged that Tackett engaged in a fight with his girlfriend and prevented her from contacting 911 by smashing a cell phone. Tackett also physically held a door shut so that the victim could not leave the residence,” police said.

He was arraigned in Lowville Village Court and released on his own recognizance.

An order of protection was issued by Justice Scordo.

Lewis County Search and Rescue, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and NY State Police assisted.
