Lowville pair accused of possessing drugs after search of apartment by police

LOWVILLE, NY —  On Sept. 8, 2020, at 9:30 a.m., the Lowville Police Department, Lewis County Drug Task Force and Lewis County Probation Department assisted New York State Parole conduct a home check of a parolee located at 5438 Trinity Ave, Apt. B, Lowville.

Upon arrival, parole officers searched the parolee’s room and uncovered crystal methamphetamine, drug packaging materials and digital scales.

Consent to search other areas of the apartment was secured by the task force and additional drug paraphernalia were secured by the drug task force.

The Lowville Police Department arrested Charles E. Taylor, 56, for fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony, and two counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, class A misdemeanors.

Taylor was arraigned before Honorable Daniel King, Lewis County Court, and committed to the Lewis County jail with bail set at $7,500 cash or $15,000 bond. Additonally, a parole warrant was filed for the violation of parole and Taylor will be held at the Lewis County jail pending a parole hearing.

On Sept. 9, 2020, the Lowville Police Department arrested Jennifer L. Taylor, 37, of 5438 Trinity Ave., Apt. B, Lowville, as a result of the search from the previous day for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She is summoned to appear in Lowville Village Court at a later date.
