LOWVILLE, NY — Kayla Gifford, 24, Lowville, was charged by Lowville police on May 7 with third-degree falsely reporting an emergency, a misdemeanor. Police said Ms. Gifford requested an ambulance on May 6 because she was having difficulty breathing. “When EMS and patrols arrived, Ms. Gifford stated that she had fallen and couldn’t remember anything. She was transported to the emergency room where she admitted to a patrol that she made this up and there was never an emergency. She was attempting to have the ambulance take her to Utica so she could see her boyfriend,” police wrote. She is summoned to appear in Lowville Village Court at a later date.
