Man accused of assaulting woman

WATERTOWN, NY —  Joseph T. Ossola, 34, of 21601 County Route 60, Apt. 21B, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with third-degree assault.

Mr. Ossola is accused of “holding Christina L. Nims, 39 down on a bed, applied pressure to her neck with his forearm and elbow which allegedly caused left radial palsy in her left and wrist which had to be medically evaluated and will require medical follow-up,” at about 9:00 p.m. June 10 at 425 E. Main St., upper apt., according to court documents.

He was held for arraignment in court, police said.
