Man accused of possessing stolen coin collector, police say

WATERTOWN, NY —  Henry Arencibia, 35, of 19226 US Route 11, Apt. 15, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 1:25 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, in the 500 block of Morrison Street with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.

He is accused of “possessing a coin collector that was stolen from a soda machine with the intent to benefit himself and impede recovery by the owner. The defendant did this by denying having the stolen item when speaking with police after being provided multiple opportunities to return the item and continued concealing the item on his person,” at about 12:54 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Morrison Street, according to court documents.

The coin collector belongs to Anthony J. Doldo, owner of The General Store, 816 Bradley St., according to court documents.

He is summoned to appear March 18 in City Court.
