Man charged with DWI in Watertown

WATERTOWN, NYLeopoldo A. Fermin Jr., 35, of 1560 Ocean Parkway, Apt. 2G, Brooklyn, was charged by Watertown police at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, in the 300 block of Central Street with driving while intoxicated and stopping – standing – parking violation.

A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law. Police did not provide his BAC.

He was charged at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with second-degree harassment. He is accused of slapping the left arm of Sgt. G.A. Cummings while in the booking room, according to court documents.

He was released to military custody and summoned to appear Aug. 7 in City Court.
