Mark J. Wearne, 37, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY —  Mark J. Wearne, 37, passed away in Watertown Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, after suffering a tragic fall at his home.

Mark was born in Watertown on June 7, 1982, a son of Patrick J. and Joann (Castro) Wearne. He was a 2000 graduate of General Brown High School.

For many years he worked in the hospitality industry and for the last five years as bartender at the Paddock Club. He had an affinity for good food and enjoyed learning the dynamics behind the preparation, cooking, and serving his creations.

One of his passions was music, including playing his guitar which he shared with his mother and brother. He also loved attending concerts and music festivals.

He enjoyed camping and fishing and in his younger years hunting with his dad.

His laugh, smile, wit, and sense of humor set him apart and he was loved by his family and friends.

As a “bartender extraordinaire”, his Paddock Club family and many friends will remember his ability to listen and develop more friends who were drawn to his caring heart and shining personality.

Mark is survived by his father, Patrick J. Wearne, Watertown; his mother, Joann Castro, Watertown; a brother, Daniel Wearne, LaGrange, KY, a sister, Melissa Wearne Thomas and husband Issac, Brownville. He also will be missed by his four beloved nieces, Haley and Jenna Thomas and Victoria and Nicole Wearne; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who are all deeply mourning their loss.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, February 10, from 3 – 6 PM at the Paddock Club, Watertown. Please join the family to celebrate and reminiscence Mark’s life.
