Martin K. Crossman, 58, Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, NY — Martin K. Crossman, 58, of Ore Bed Rd., passed away, Friday morning, Feb. 26, 2021, at home, surrounded by his family while under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County, Watertown, NY.

Born Sept. 8, 1962, in Watertown, NY, a son of Michael L. and Marilyn J. Jones Crossman, he was a 1980 graduate of Indian River Central School, Philadelphia, NY.

Martin married Shelley J. Griffin on Aug. 2, 1980, in Philadelphia, NY, at the bride’s parents home.

At the age of 14, he worked on the Frank Burns Farm, Evans Mills, NY, then the Great American, Watertown, NY. He was a machinist for SMI Industries, Watertown, NY, a technician for milk testing at Dairy Herd Industries, owner/operator for Stroehman’s Bread and in 1993 he started as a mill worker for Knowlton Technologies and worked his way up to becoming mill superintendent.

Martin was a member of the Evans Mills Cemetery Association.

He loved making home improvements and car repairs as well as spending time with family, friends, his two dogs and a cat, Marley, Sam and Jack.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Shelley; daughter, Jennifer Crossman, Philadelphia, NY, daughter, Ashley Crossman, Philadelphia, NY, son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Alicia Crossman, Ogdensburg, NY, and a daughter and son-in-law, Mallory and Jamison Vincent, Woodstock, GA; three grandchildren, Elijah Michael Stark, Jaylynn Jessie Stark and Cameron Kenneth Crossman; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert and Cherie Crossman, LaFargeville, NY, Matthew and Mary Crossman, Weedsport, NY; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY, with a Private service following and officiated by Pastor Mark Parish.
