Massena man drove 80 mph through village during pursuit, troopers say

MASSENA, NY — On July 20, 2018, at approximately 4:38 p.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on State Route 56 in the town of Louisville on a Subaru Legacy for failing to keep right.

The operator, identified as Zachery M. Donnelly, 19, of Massena, fled the stop in his vehicle after his initial encounter with the trooper.

Donnelly led troopers in a pursuit through the village of Massena, traveling at a speed of approximately 80 mph in a posted 30 mph zone, troopers said. Donnelly ended the pursuit by pulling into the driveway at 115 East Orvis Street. Donnelly was taken into custody.

He was charged with second-degree Reckless Endangerment and third-degree Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle. He was further ticketed for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

Donnelly was arraigned in the Massena Village Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in liue of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
