Michael E. Nabywaniec, 66, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY – Michael E. Nabywaniec, 66, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019 at his home.

Born April 23, 1952, in Carthage, the son of Edward and Dorothy Ann (Legary) Nabywaniec, he graduated in 1971 from Carthage Central School.

After high school Mike enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Mike served on the supply ship, the USS Savannah. He was honorably discharged in 1977. After his Navy service Mike worked briefly in the construction trade locally.

Mike moved to Florida and settled in Bonita Springs. He worked 30 years for Lezgus Plumbing Supply in Naples, Florida.

In December 2014 he returned to Watertown for health reasons. Mike often joked how he had it backwards, working in Florida and retiring in New York.

Michael was predeceased by his father Edward Nabywaniec in 2009.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Nabywaniec, Carthage; a son, Joshua, East Flat Rock, NC; and three brothers, Mark of Bethany, Oklahoma, Matt of Carthage, and Jim of Calcium.

Mike was a member of the Bonita Springs American Legion Post # 303, and when he was younger a communicant of St. Rita’s in Deferiet.

He enjoyed golf and Syracuse basketball and football.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes there will be no calling hours.

Services will be private and are with Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home.
