Musa Hall Bovee, 68, Adams

ADAMS, NY —  Musa Lynne (Hall) Bovee, 68, of 16 Cemetery St., Adams, passed into Jesus’ loving arms in her residence with her loving family at her side on April 9, 2020.

She was born on May 20, 1951, the daughter of Shermon and Fern McKinney Hall and raised in Ellwood City, PA.

On July 16, 1983, she married the Rev. Martin W. Bovee at his church in Red Bank, NJ. Together they served churches in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. Musa graduated in 1969 from Riverside High School in Ellwood City, PA.

She went on to Slippery Rock University and received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and Physical Sciences and her master’s in education. To finance her education, she was a certified excursion boat pilot at Morraine State Park.

She taught chemistry for several years at Carthage Central School. She also went on to teach all the sciences in schools in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and in addition, served as a professor at Keystone College in Pennsylvania.

Musa was a loving wife and Mother, daughter, aunt, teacher and loving friend to many. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, teaching, cooking and sharing with others her talents and gifts.

Musa was predeceased by her parents, her in laws, Richard and Ruth Bovee, a brother, Shermon, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her husband Marty and her daughter Elizabeth, her sister and brother-in-law; Valli Kim (Ken) Martin, her brother and sister-in-law; James and Ann Hall; a sister-in-law, Linda Hall; a brother and sisters-in-law, Melissa (Tom) Drake, Matthew (Lois) Bovee and Molly (Scott) Stacy; and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private family service and burial will be at the Greenmount United Methodist Church and Cemetery in Glen Rock, PA.

A celebration of Musa’s life and picnic is tentatively scheduled for July 18, 2020 beginning at 2:00PM at the home of Melissa and Tom Drake, 5358 Clarks Point Road, Henderson, NY.
