WATERTOWN, NY — Nancy C. Witte, 72, formerly of Corinth, NY, passed away peacefully Jan. 5, 2019.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a time and date to be announced.
Nancy was born on Jan. 11, 1946, in Corinth, NY, the daughter of Howard and Mildred Duell. She attended Corinth Central School for elementary and high school and then became a graduate of Albany Business College.
Nancy spent most of her career as a secretary at Evan’s Insurance Agency in Lake Luzerne, NY. Before work and during her lunch hour, Nancy assisted her best friend, Barbara Pataki, at the Hadley Diner.
Nancy married David E. Witte on April 13, 1968, in Corinth, NY. David worked most of his career as a teacher in the Glens Falls City School District. The couple lived all their marriage in Corinth, NY, celebrating 50 years in 2018. In May of 2018, they relocated to the Ives Hill Retirement Community in Watertown, NY.
Nancy’s love included her family, her pets, gardening and annual trips to Atlantic City with her friend Barb. She found much enjoyment having coffee and chatting with special aunts and cousins.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, David, her daughter, Erica (Pete) Pettit of Depauville, NY, a son, Mark (Wendy) Witte of East Greenbush, NY and her beloved grandchildren, Claire and Donovan Pettit and Brendan, Evan and Kaden Witte. She also leaves behind two special cousins Donna Boggs and Duane White of Corinth, NY.
She was predeceased by her mother, Mildred Duell, her father, Howard Duell, and a special aunt, Ruth Atwell.
