NYSP: Lewis County man is accused of assaulting another with baseball bat

LOWVILLE, NY —  Scott A. Danforth, 50, Castorland, was charged on Sept. 21, 2021, by State Police in Lowville with first-degree assault, a class “B” felony, and third-degree criminal possession of weapon, a class “D” felony.

Danforth is accused of assaulting a 31-year-old male several times with a baseball bat during a fight that took place on May 30, 2021, in Castorland, troopers said.

The victim suffered several fractured bones and an injury to his eye, troopers said.

Danforth was arraigned in Turin Town Court and was remanded to Lewis County Correctional Facility without bail.

He is scheduled to appear Sept. 22 in Denmark Town Court.
