NYSP: Lowville man arrested for making terroristic threats against Lewis County Court Judge King and police officers

LOWVILLE, NY —  Verne L. Harris Jr., 24, Lowville, NY, was charged by state police with making a terroristic threat, a class “D” felony.

Harris is accused of making threats against the family members of Lewis County Probation, Lowville Police Department, and Lewis County Court Judge Daniel King.

The Lowville Police Department located Mr. Harris in the village of Lowville and subsequently placed him in custody.

A criminal history for the defendant revealed (2) prior felony convictions, June 2015 for Assault 2nd and July for Assault 2nd, troopers said.

The defendant was arraigned at the town of West Turin Court by Town Justice Earl who remanded Harris to the Lewis County Jail without bail.

He is scheduled to appear at the town of Lowville Court on September 30, 2021, at 4:00 p.m.
