NYSP: Man arrested after running out of gas in a stolen vehicle on Thruway

BUFFALO, NY – On June 28, 2022, at approximately 1:35 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a disabled vehicle on I-190 in the city of Buffalo.  When Troopers arrived on the scene, they observed a male sitting in the passenger seat who was identified as Christopher M. Krause, 40, of Buffalo, NY.  Krause stated he was driving the vehicle when he ran out of gas.  During the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle, a 2006 Honda Ridgeline, was reported stolen out of the Town of Cheektowaga Police Department.

Krause was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Dunkirk where he was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree; a Class E Felony and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor.  Further investigation revealed Krause has two confirmed outstanding warrants with the City of Buffalo Police Department.  He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the City of Buffalo Court on July 15, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. and transported & turned over to the City of Buffalo lockup.
