SYLVAN BEACH, NY — On August 30, 2020, at 7:20 p.m., State Police in Sylvan Beach responded to Taberg Florence Road and  State Route 69 in the town of Annsville regarding an assault investigation.
A male victim reported being involved in a minor property damage accident and reported that after the collision, the operator of the other involved vehicle attacked the victim with a crowbar causing physical injuries to him. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The 55-year-old victim was admitted to an area hospital with internal injuries.
On September 6, 2020, Troopers arrested Dillon M. Kotary, age 25 from Osceola, NY, for the following charges:

Assault 2nd degree (D felony)

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (D felony)

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd degree (an unclassified misdemeanor)

Leaving the Scene of a property damage accident without reporting (violation)
Kotary is currently being held at Oneida County Jail pending arraignment.
