NYSP: Redwood man dies after pickup truck strikes utility pole in town of Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY — On August 8, 2022, at approximately 7:08 p.m., the New York State Police responded to a report of a one-car crash on Bailey Settlement Road, in the town of Alexandria.

Initial investigation indicated a 2010 Toyota Tacoma operated by Steven J. Shoulette, age 47, from Redwood, NY, was traveling north on Bailey Settlement Road when the operator lost control and exited the west shoulder, striking a utility pole and coming to rest over an embankment off the west shoulder.

Mr. Shoulette was ejected during the accident and was transported to River Hospital, in the village of Alexandria Bay where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is continuing.

The New York State Police were assisted at the scene by Alexandria Fire Dept., Plessis Fire Dept., Redwood Fire Dept., TIERS Ambulance Service, Alexandria Bay Ambulance Service, and National Grid.
