NYSP Update: Motorcyclist in critical condition following crash in the town of Antwerp

WATERTOWN, NY  — On May 30, 2021, at 6:08 p.m., State Police responded to a motorcycle crash that occurred on County Route 22 in the town of Antwerp, Jefferson County.

The investigation has determined a 2021 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Joseph W. Barlow, 24, Potsdam, NY, was traveling eastbound on County Route 22 at an unsafe speed when he exited the roadway and struck a post and fence.

Barlow was ejected from the bike and then struck a piece of stationary farm equipment, trooper said.

Barlow was airlifted by LifeNet to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse and was listed in critical condition.

The investigation is continuing.
