Orlene R. Dunning, 68, LaFargeville

LAFARGEVILLE, NY — Orlene Rose Dunning, born Oct. 6, 1951, passed away at her home in the town of Orleans on July 31, 2020, (due to health complications).

She was predeceased by her father and mother, Fred and Leanna (Shaw) Dunning, as well as her only brother, Darrell, (in 1977.)

After graduating from LaFargeville High School in 1969, Rose graduated college. She then worked in Washington D.C. for a time for the F.B.I. She returned to the North Country and lived at her beloved family farm at the time of her death.

Rose possessed a wonderful sense of humor, an independent spirit, loved attending a variety of church functions, and never missed a weekend at the drive-in movie theater. She thoroughly enjoyed reading, and was self-taught on many subjects. Few people knew she spoke German and French.

Rose enjoyed socializing, and was a truly knowledgeable, wonderful conversationalist.

As her legacy, Rose would encourage us all to be kind to one another.
