WATERTOWN, NY — Paulette “Billie” Koberger, 61, companion of James Nevin of Watertown, passed away Tuesday morning, June 16, 2020, at the Samaritan Keep Home where she had resided since December 2019.

She was born on Feb. 2, 1959.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2020, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by her loving life partner, James (Jim) Nevin, her son’s Starsky Koberger ( fiancee Heather Zeitler Mantle), Brian Koberger, predeceased by her son Joshua Koberger. She is also survived by her best friend Jeannie O’Connor, several brothers and sisters as well as stepsons, nieces, nephews, and many, many grandchildren whom she loved wholly and with all of her heart.

Paulette (Billie) Koberger had a love for life and adventure. She was always willing to go somewhere new and explore, as long as she had someone to enjoy it with.  She so loved her children, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, and her grandchildren, that she devoted most of her time to helping raise, care for, and support all of them.  Many of her evenings were spent enjoying a great meal, playing with the kids, and great conversations.

Her favorite places to be were on the St. Lawrence river at the Nevin’s camp, surrounded by those she loved, going to the Fairgrounds Inn to eat with Jim, and being at home with him, planning her next adventure.  She enjoyed travelling around with her loved ones to see garage sales, and finding beautiful areas to explore and come back to see again and again.

She was adored throughout her life and never gave a second thought to helping anyone who needed her. She loved a good joke or prank, to laugh was a gift to her. To listen to and dance to great music made for beautiful memories that will be cherished.
