
FELTS MILLS, NY — First responders were dispatched at about 3:38 a.m. Thursday to Cemetery Road in the town of Rutland for the report of a man being struck by a vehicle and laying in the middle of road with a head injury, according to scanner traffic.
The patient, a man whose name has not been released, was transported by Black River Ambulance to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown for treatment. A medical helicopter declined service due to weather conditions.
Cemetery Road was closed to traffic for about a half hour.
Felts Mills firefighters were also assisted by Guilfoyle Ambulance.
State police are investigating the cause of the accident.
