Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine authorized for ages 12-15

WATERTOWN, NY ~ The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine use in adolescents ages 12 through 15. In New York State, individuals 12 years of age and older are eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

The Jefferson County Public Health Service (JCPHS) is hosting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Thousands Islands Middle School today, May 13, 3:00pm – 6:30pm. This clinic is now open to individuals 12 years of age and older. A parent must be present at their child’s appointment to provide consent of vaccination. All Pfizer vaccine is by appointment only, and must be scheduled at www.jcphs.org.

Walk-ins at today’s clinic may ONLY receive Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine – as supply allows. With eligibility expansion, JCPHS recognizes the increased need for Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinics. Beginning May 26, JCPHS will be holding Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination clinics every Wednesday at its
facility at 531 Meade Street Watertown, NY 13601. JCPHS is also coordinating other clinics throughout the community with our partners. Please monitor www.jcphs.org for updates.
