JonMichael Edwards-Taylor, 23, of 20368 Bagram Road, Apt. 249, Fort Drum, was charged by Watertown police at 11:54 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, on Fort Drum with endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree harassment and two counts of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. Mr. Edwards-Taylor is accused of punching a 25-year-old woman and choked her in close proximity to a 6-month-old boy during a domestic incident at about 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at 1024 Bronson St., Apt. 1, according to court documents. He is also accused of grabbing her by her throat and applying pressure and held a straight bladed knife near her stomach in a threatening manner in a separate incident at about 11:00 p.m. Tuesday at the same location, police said. He was being held pending arraignment Thursday morning in City Court.

Arrested at 9:29 am for Assault first-degree (B Felony). Defendant was arrested on the above listed charge following an assault investigation that occurred on 03/11/2023. Defendant did intentionally cause serious physical injury to the victim when the defendant used a deadly weapon consisting of an approximate 5 inch knife blade stabbing the victim 7 times consisting of 3 in the left hand, 2 times in the left forearm, 1 time in left chest lateral and 1 time in left shoulder blade for which the victim sought medical treatment for, police said. Defendant was arraigned in the Gouverneur Town Court in front Of Judge Stanley Young and was remanded to the Saint Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail; defendant is to reappear in the Gouverneur Town Court at a later date. A stay away order of protection was issued for the victim.
