Police say Watertown woman fell asleep in vehicle with infant passenger

WATERTOWN, NY —  Ashley N. Childs, 25, of 620 Gotham St., Apt. 1, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at 620 Gotham St. with endangering the welfare of a child.

Ms. Childs is accused of falling asleep in her vehicle with a 2-month-old girl in the back seat and the vehicle was unlocked at about 2:17 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, according to court documents. “The defendant was visibly impaired and admitted to having takne Ambian,” police wrote.

She is summoned to appear Dec. 4 in City Court.
