WATERTOWN, N.Y. – The Volunteer Transportation Center, Inc. (VTC) is proud to announce its 5th Annual Posh Purse Palooza – a high-end designer purse auction – was a huge success. The event, held May 16 at Garland City Beer Works, Watertown, saw $7,635 raised to benefit the services provided by the VTC.
Proceeds from this event support the charitable programs of the VTC providing transportation to medical, dental and other life-sustaining health-related appointments throughout Northern New York.
“Every day, volunteer drivers are allowing people to stay in their homes because one simple, but often hard to obtain piece of their care, is taken care of – their ride to the doctor,” said VTC Executive Director Sam Purington. “The dedication of a community that cares to support the volunteer drivers by raising money to support their mileage reimbursement is critical to the ongoing success of the program. Thank you to all those involved that made this event a success.”
“We had an amazing turnout for our 5th Annual Posh Purse Palooza and couldn’t be happier with the success of this year’s event,” said Jeremiah S. Papineau, Foundation Director for the VTC. “We had a great selection of purses and items in them for people to bid on thanks to the generosity of people here in our community. It’s unbelievable how so many gave to make this event such a success.”
This year’s event included purses by Coach, Vera Bradley, Dooney & Bourke, Calvin Klein, Kate Spade, Anne Klein, Lafayette 148 New York and more, donated by individuals and businesses.
This year’s event was made possible by: Diamond Sponsor – Carthage Area Hospital; Platinum Sponsors – Fidelis Care and Pala Wood Services; Gold Sponsors – Watertown Savings Bank and Renzi Bros.; and Silver Sponsors – Black Horse Group LLC, Carthage Elks Lodge 1762, Carthage Savings and Loan, Logan’s Equipment Inc., and The Farm House Kitchen.
