Possible coronavirus exposure at Lowville church

LOWVILLE, NY — With each confirmed case of COVID-19, Public Health staff investigate and identify close contacts and exposure risk. Per New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, those persons who have been in contact with someone who is positive for COVID-19 will be placed in quarantine and monitored for symptoms.

While investigating the latest case, Public Health identified an event where individuals may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus:

• A religious gathering at the Apostolic Christian Church, 9029 NYS Route 812 Lowville, on Sunday October 11th.

If you attended the above event on the date listed, you should call (315) 376-5108.

Due to the anticipated volume of calls, an auto recording will direct you to leave a voicemail with your name and phone number. Public Health will then follow-up with you as soon as possible. Please be patient and remain calm. When preventative measures are being followed (wearing face coverings, washing hands, social distancing, etc.), the risk of exposure in a shared public space is minimal, but precautions should still be taken.
