Reginald H. Sholette, 86, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Reginald H. Sholette, 86, Watertown, passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 4, at the Hospice residence, Gotham St., with his family at his side.

The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at St. Patrick’s Church, Watertown. Burial will be for the convenience of the family in Ogdensburg. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife Ellen, Watertown; his children Richard, GA, Sue (Tom) Storino, Watertown, Kathleen (Roger) Vitello, FL, Theodore (Donetta) Sholette, OK, Anne (Dan) Bower, Tupper Lake, Christine (Steve) Shockley, Watertown; 13 grandchildren Aaron, Andrew, Alex and Adam Storino, Paul and Kevin Sholette, Michelle Loftis, Justin, Michael and Anna Fetter, Sam and Spencer Sholette and Theresa Bower; 13 great grandchildren and 3 more on the way; sister and brother-in- law, Marla and Larry Bonville; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sue Lalonde; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters Winnie Bouchard and Marjorie Henry.

Reginald was born August 15, 1931, a son to the late Theodore and Gladys Robert Sholette.  He served with the US Army during the Korean War.

He married Ellen Lalonde May 3, 1952 at Notre Dame, Ogdensburg.

Mr. Sholette was a grocery store manager and owner; he managed a Radio Shack store and retired from Kinney’s Drugs as a courier.

He was a member and Eucharistic minister at St. Patrick’s Church, a Boy Scout leader, a member of the Lions Club and a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus.  He was a member of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship and taught catechism classes.

His family will remember their Dad as a man of faith, family and fun. He was a kind and caring person who always responded with a “thank you”. He enjoyed conversing with all who would take time to visit.
