Residential Health Care Facility in Lowville reopens first, third and fourth floors visitation

LOWVILLE, NY  ─ The Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) has reopened its first, third, and fourth floors for in-person visitation, effective immediately.  The second floor remains closed due to a staff member who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus earlier this week.

All the facility’s residents and staff were tested this week, and there were no new positive COVID-19 results.  The RHCF continues to test employees 1-2 times per week, depending on the number of days worked.

“We are completing another round of testing for second-floor residents today and will address in-person visitation for the second floor once we have the COVID-19 test results back,” stated Debra Wurz, Nursing Home Administrator.

A reminder for visitors, everyone will be screened for temperature, COVID-19-related symptoms and must wear a mask. Visitors who fail to wear a face mask will be asked to leave the facility.

The front lobby entrance and screening table hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and closed on the weekends.  If you plan to visit after 5:00 pm or on the weekend, you must enter through the Emergency Department.  Family and friends visiting a resident in the Residential Health Care Facility must sign in and out on the floor they are visiting.

The complete NYSDOH and RHCF visitation guidelines are available on the health system’s website at https://www.lcgh.net/coronavirus.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as the Residential Health Care Facility staff works to keep our residents, employees, family members, and friends safe.
