CLAYTON, NY —Â Richard L. Story, 60, died at his residence on Thursday, Oct. 24, after a battle with lung cancer. There will be no services. A burial will be held in Florida.
Arrangements are with the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton.
Rick was born May 3, 1959, in Florida, the son of Leo and Margaret Swearigin Story. He attended Florida schools.
A marriage ended in divorce.
Rick worked various jobs in Florida as a truck driver.
After moving to the North Country, he lived for a time in Redwood. He also worked for Foxy’s Restaurant in Fishers Landing, and also as a farm hand, during his time here.
He really enjoyed his motorcycles.
Surviving are a son, Richard T. of Iowa; a grandchild, Jude Grace of Iowa; a half-sister Corrina Messick of Indiana; a stepsister, LaVeda McNeill of Florida; nieces; nephews; his friends and caregivers Jerry and Kathryn Wetterhahn of Clayton.
A daughter, Sheana Story, passed away before him.
