Rosemary T. Fazio, 93, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Rosemary T. Fazio, 93, Watertown, passed away Sunday evening, March 17, 2019, at her home surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc.. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church on Saturday, March 23, at noon with Rev. Christopher Looby, pastor, presiding, followed by burial in Glenwood Cemetery.

Born July 31, 1925, in Watertown, the daughter of Francis and Anna Netto Tauroney, she was a 1943 graduate of Watertown High School.

On Mary 26, 1956, she married Peter Fazio, Jr. at St. Anthony’s Church. Mr. Fazio passed away on Oct. 27, 2016.

She began her career as a legal secretary at Green, Wolfbaum & Ernest Law Firm in Manhattan. After returning to Watertown, she worked for Attorney Ted Charlebois and later retired from Mott & Wiltse Law Firm. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Rosemary was a past president and member of the Italian American Civic Association Ladies Auxiliary and was very active with Bravo Fest.

She is survived by her three children, Peter J. Fazio, Watertown, Susan F. Holeman and husband, E. Roy, Guffin Bay, and Steven M. Fazio and wife, Ellen, Penn Yan; eight grandchildren, Amy McMurchie, Danielle Cosey, Sean Fazio, Elizabeth Lewis, Jacob Holeman, Lucas Holeman, Nicholas Fazio, and Sara Fazio; nine great grandchildren; sister, Ret. Col. Teresa J. Tauroney, Melbourne, FL.

Along with her husband, Rosemary was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Kim Le Fazio and brother, Francis Tauroney.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to either St. Anthony’s Church, 850 Arsenal St. or Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., both in Watertown, NY 13601.
