HENDERSON, NY — Ruth H. Chase, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Monday Feb. 20, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mannsville United Methodist Church at a date and time to be announced.
Ruth was born May 4, 1938, in Lansing, NY, the daughter of the late Theodore and Opal Persing Chaffee. She was a graduate of Lansing High School.
Ruth married the love of her life Eugene Chase on March 1, 1958, in Newfield, NY. They were married for 64 years.
Ruth and Gene lived most of their married life in Pierrepont Manor NY, later moving to Florida and then back to Henderson, NY, to be close to their daughters.
Ruth was predeceased by her parents Theodore and Opal Persing Chaffee. Mother and Father-in-law Elmer and Cora Alice Chase; brothers, Theodore Chaffee, Marvin Chaffee, David Chaffee; sisters, Jean Ostrander, Joanne Reeder (Tinka). Edith Yaple, Grace Gunn, Hazel Lafavor and Connie Chaffee; brothers-in-law, William Ostrander, Dale Gunn, Ross Yaple, Donald Lafavor, Leroy Chase, and Gerald Chase; sisters-in-law, Jean Chaffee, Doris Chaffee, and Kathryn Chase.
She is survived by her loving husband Eugene Chase. Brothers John Chaffee (Patty), George Chaffee (Cathy), and Albert Chaffee (Deb). Two daughters Brenda (Jeffrey Jakubowski) of Henderson NY and Lisa (Thomas Guernsey) of Fulton, NY. One Grandson Jarrid Chase of Sandy Creek NY and four Great Grandchildren Asher and Korbyn Chase and Joslin and Brooke Jakubowski, and many Nieces and Nephews whom she loved with all of her heart.
Ruth’s greatest joy in life was her love of and dedication to the Lord. She was the ultimate Prayer Warrior and dedicated her life to always being there for anyone who needed prayer. Ruth read her bible cover to cover once a year for the last 22 years. She loved her family with all of her heart and soul and was so proud to be called Grandma and Great Grandma. Ruth’s passing will be felt far and wide and she will be greatly missed by us all.
