Sackets Harbor hosts The Moving Wall

SACKETS HARBOR, NY — The Village of Sackets Harbor is honored to partner with the Northern New York- Fort Drum Chapter of the Association for the United States Army to present “The Moving Wall” replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Please gather with us August 23rd – 25th to remember the Vietnam Veterans who died serving our nation in the cause for freedom and to comfort those who grieve for them – as husbands, as wives, as sons, as daughters, as comrades-in-arms.

It is fitting that the public will be able to visit the memorial wall at the War of 1812
Battlefield New York State Park and Historic Site in Sackets Harbor. Deep in the soil of that solemn ground, more than 200 years ago, the seeds of patriotism, duty, honor and allegiance to country were planted. Like the memorial grove and monument on the Battlefield that recognizes the courage of the militia who defended the Northern Frontier in the War of 1812, “The Moving Wall” symbolizes our humble gratitude to the brave soldiers who fought in Vietnam.

It is a privilege to invite the public to visit “The Moving Wall” in order to pay their
respect and to offer sincere admiration to all Vietnam Veterans for their sacrifice.

Welcome Home.
