The restaurant is recognized among other winners from all over the globe as a top destination for wine lovers. This is the third year in a row for the Château to be recognized with this honor.

“No doubt about it: 2020 has been a challenging year for restaurants. But amid the shutdowns and the strictly regulated reopenings have come inspiring stories, as an entire industry came together to support its members and the communities they serve.

Through the economic crisis triggered by the coronavirus pandemic, wine has continued to be a source of pleasure for diners and of profit for restaurants. The Wine Spectator team is pleased to recognize the achievements of nearly 3,800 restaurants, hailing from all 50 states and 80 countries and territories, that have demonstrated the passion and devoted the resources to create outstanding wine programs.”

Behind the Chateau’s award winning wine program is Chef Christian Ives, Maître D’, Mark Harrienger, and a team of dedicated staff constantly striving to offer the best experience possible.  “We were absolutely honored to receive the Award of Excellence in for our third year in a row, and are always looking for ways to evolve” said Chef Ives.

Their Still to Grill concept fuses the family’s three companies (Lucky Star Ranch, Saint Lawrence Spirits & the Château) allows them to integrate the best local produce and meats for the finest dining experience. Their concept uses spent mash from Saint Lawrence Spirits–the on-site distillery–to feed Red Stag and Black Angus from the family farm, Lucky Star Ranch. The have recently added pigs and goats to the program, as well.

They are passionate about providing local and sustainably grown products from their farm in use them in their Spirits, as well as at the Château.  Chef Ives uses this unique opportunity to combine World-Class Wines and exceptional local food to create a degustation for an immersive food “journey”.

Wine Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists in 1981. There are three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award. This is the third year the Château has won the Award of Excellence.
