Sharon A. Smashe Gianni, 68, Cape Vincent

CAPE VINCENT, NY — Sharon Anne Smashe Gianni, 68, of Kelly Road, Cape Vincent, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020, after a long battle with cancer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home Inc, Cape Vincent.

Born May 10, 1952, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late John and Eleanor (Singer) Smashe, she graduated from East High School.

She worked in collections for Sibleys, Genesee Hospital, and then Chase Bank until leaving that profession to start up a coffee bar in the in the lower mezzanine of the Chase Tower Concourse.

Sharon was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Cape Vincent, and enjoyed tending to her gardens.

Surviving are a son, Shane M. Smashe; a brother, John (Cathleen) Smashe; a sister, Sandra Smashe; a sister-in-law, Cara (Kerry) Bliss; nieces, Mara Alexia Boone, Irene (Bryan) Ondrasik; and nephew Christopher (Kim) Smashe, her dog Sheeba, and many wonderful friends and relatives.

Sharon was predeceased by her husband Clifford Gianni (April 8th, 2020), and her parents.
