WATERTOWN, NY — Shawn R. Dorr, Sr., 37, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, in the emergency room at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. A calling will begin at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
Shawn is survived by his parents, Richard S. Dorr, Jr., Watertown; Tammy (Ralph) Filippi Watertown; two sons, Shawn Jr. and Zachery Dorr, Michigan; 2 sisters, Savannah (Jimmy) Haughian, Watertown; Shamra (Dalton) Patterson, Maine; 3 nieces, Victoria, Martha and Savayah Haughian, 2 nephews, James and Jayce Haughian; his maternal grandmother, Katherine Gentile, paternal grandfather, Richard Dorr, Sr.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A paternal grandmother, Vickie Newberry and his aunt, Teasa Garnsey predeceased him.
He was born Sept. 24, 1982, in Watertown, a son to Richard S. and Tammy Gentile Dorr, Jr. He graduated from Jackson High School, Michigan in 2000.
Shawn enjoyed watching the Washington Redskin, New York Mets, going camping and collecting baseball cards. He was very kind hearted and loved his family very much.
