DEXTER, NY — Shirley A. Buckley, 84, of NYS Route 12E, Dexter, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 14, 2019, at Hospice at Ellis Farm with family at her side.

Born Nov. 14, 1934, in Sackets Harbor, NY, the daughter of Alwyn and Beulah Hyde Flick, she attended school in Theresa and graduated from Thousand Islands High School.

Shirley was married to Richard May, Samuel LaMora and Robert Buckley.

Shirley owned and operated the Crossroads Café in Limerick for several years and was also a foster parent.

Surviving are four children: Joni May Hubbard and Rick Hubbard of North Carolina, Rex May of Clayton, David LaMora of Dexter and Cindy and John Trombly of Fulton.

She has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and several stepchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Patricia Schweitzer, a daughter-in-law, Cherry LaMora, three brothers, Richard Flick, Curt Flick, and Mick Flick, and a sister, Joan Flick.

A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. There will be no calling hours. A spring burial will be held in Dexter Cemetery along with a celebration of life in the spring.
