SLC officials warn of possible flooding

CANTON, NY — With the increased rainfall and warmer temperatures in New York State, the Raquette River is expected to slowly increase in water level over the next few days.

Persons residing or traveling through the Raquette River corridor are cautioned to be on alert for high water levels and/or water across roadways.

The Emergency Services Office reminds residents and motorists that it is inadvisable, and potentially dangerous to drive vehicles into standing water over roadways.

Persons experiencing flooding that threat residential dwellings are encourages to contact 911 for assistance.
