State Police: 3 children killed in house fire in Rome

ROME, NY — On Monday July 23, 2018, at approximately 11:48 pm, Oneida County 911 received a call of a structure fire at 154 Pine Haven Circle in the city of Rome.

When troopers and fire personnel arrived on scene they observed heavy fire conditions.

Six people live inside the residence.

  •  Gabrielle M. Croad, age 24 (mother) transported to SUNY Upstate for second-degree burns.

  •  Patrick G. Croad, age 25 (father) transported to SUNY Upstate Medical Center for evaluation.

  •  Kaydence J. Croad, 1-year-old female transported to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse with burns to both arms.

  • Temprince J. Croad, 2-year-old female, found deceased inside the residence.

  • Patrick G. Croad III, 3-year-old male, found deceased inside the residence.

  • Eliesse A. Croad, 4-year-old female, found deceased inside the residence.

The City of Rome Fire Department’s Cause & Origin Team is assisting with determining the cause of the fire.

State Police were assisted at the scene by Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, City of Rome Fire Department, New London Fire Department, Vienna Fire Department, Oneida County Mobile Crisis Assessment Team and the Oneida County Medical Examiners Office.
