ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY — On Aug. 10, 2021, State Police in Alexandria Bay arrested a 12-year-old juvenile from the village of Theresa for Cemetery Desecration first-degree (D-felony) and Criminal Mischief second-degree (E-felony).
The charges stemmed from an investigation into 33 cemetery headstones that were damaged in January of this year in Oakwood Cemetery in Theresa.
The total cost of damages was $3,726.
The juvenile was issued a Family Court appearance ticket to the Jefferson County Probation office.
