CAPE VINCENT, NY — On June 4, 2023, at 11:50 a.m. state police in Watertown and Alexandria Bay responded to a reported motorcycle vs SUV crash on State Route 12E, near the intersection of Bourcy Road in the town of Cape Vincent, Jefferson County.
The investigation revealed a 2005 Harley Davidson, operated by Chris A. Farrell, age 57, from Cape Vincent, NY, was traveling west on Route 12E when a 2020 Jeep Cherokee, operated by Thomas Coughlin, age 82, from Liverpool, NY, was traveling east on Route 12E and failed to observe the motorcycle, turned onto Bourcy Road and into the path of the motorcycle, troopers said.
Mr. Farrell was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Mr. Coughlin was not injured in the crash. He was tested at the scene and showed no signs of any alcohol or drug impairment, troopers said.
The investigation is continuing.
