ALEXANDRIA BAY, NY – The 30th Annual Polar Bear Dip will take place on
Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 (on Leap Day) at Bonnie Castle Resort and Marina in
Alexandria Bay, NY.
This annual event is organized by Friends of River Hospital and is one of the leading fundraisers for River Hospital. Funds raised from this year’s Dip will be designated for the modernization of the patient rooms in the Inpatient Unit on the 2nd floor of River Hospital.
The 2019 Polar Bear Dip had over 150 Dippers who collectively raised over $75,000 for River Hospital’s new Emergency Department trauma room, opening Spring 2020. Jeff Cole, 7News This Evening anchor, will return for his 14th year emceeing the Polar Bear Dip. Home of the Stars will be set up once again with a live feed of the Dipper so spectators can watch in the warmth. A live stream will also be viewable at riverhospital.org for those not able to attend the Dip in person.
If you are interested in dipping, the minimum donation amount is $100. Several
individuals and teams raise well over that amount per person. All dippers are
encouraged to get creative with their fundraising – several do dinners, breakfasts, bake sale or even just letters requesting donations from their friends and family members. You can raise money for your Dip by using GoFundMe.com.
Registration opens at 9:00am and dipping begins at 1:00pm. All of the events will take place at Bonnie Castle Resort and Marina, 31 Holland Street, Alexandria Bay, NY.
