Teresa B. O’Sullivan, 78, Park Ridge, NJ

PARK RIDGE, NJ —  Teresa B. O’Sullivan (née McKillop) was born January 18, 1942 in St. John’s Place, Brooklyn NY to James and Mary (Geary) McKillop.

She died on her 78th birthday, Jan 18, 2020, at Fox Trail Memory Care Living, Park Ridge NJ.

Terry grew up in South Ozone Park in Queens, NY and graduated from John Adams High School. She worked for Westing House in Manhattan until she started a family. Later she became a school bus driver for Clarkstown Central School District. Terry met Daniel C. O’Sullivan of Co. Kerry, Ireland in 1963 at a dance in City Center. They were married in 1965. They had 3 children and raised them in West Nyack, NY.

Terry is survived by her husband Dan of 54 years. Her children Kerry (Hans) Wahl of Clayton NY, Daniel (Donna) of Bridgewater NJ and Patricia (Joseph) Ciardullo of New City NY. Six grandchildren Sabrina and Liam Wahl, Timothy and Caroline O’Sullivan, Frankand Ryan Ciardullo. A sister Maureen (Hugh) Gillen of Glen Cove NY, a brother Brendan (Valerie) McKillop of Ronkonkoma NY, and two sisters-in-law Mary McKillop of Smithtown NY and Eileen Kenehan of Galway Ireland. Her best friend, Chloe, a goldendoodle of New City NY. She was predeceased by her parents and 4 brothers Daniel, Patrick, James and William and asister Catherine McCormack.

In her retirement Terry spent 20 years traveling between Rockland, Clayton and Chesapeake, VA to enjoy time with both her family in NY/NJ as well as her community of friends that became like family to Terry and Dan in VA. She was active in volunteering for various church programs such as the Rosary Group, Grand Group and the food pantry for Prince of Peace in Chesapeake, as well as assisting her husband Dan with a Communion Service at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Chesapeake.

Family will be accepting visitors at Higgins Funeral Home in New City on Friday January 24th from 4-8pm. The funeral Mass will be at Saint Augustine’s church in New City on Saturday January 25th at 10am with the burial to follow at Saint Anthony’s cemetery in Nanuet.
