EVANS MILLS, NY — Terry T. Slate, 65, of Call Road, Evans Mills, died Monday, May 27, 2019, at his home.
Born Aug. 28, 1953, in Watertown, NY, a son of Edwin Leslie and Genevieve Belle Hubbard Slate, he attended local schools and later obtained his GED.
Terry married Toni J. Statt on May 22, 2004, in Theresa, NY. A previous marriage to Cindy Norman ended in divorce.
He was a machine operator, filling milk bottles, for Patterson Farms, Watertown, NY for many years and also drove truck for Borello Trucking, for a time.
Terry was an NRA member and enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, reading Stephen
King novels and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Toni; daughter and son-in-law, Gert and Todd Shawcross, Gretna, NE; daughter, Ginger Gray, Philadelphia, NY; daughter, Heather Slate, Del Rio, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri Lynn and Michael Cowher, Hammond, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Jerilynn and James Mahon, Dexter, NY; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Arnold “Arnie” Slate, Theresa, NY; a sister, Linda Slate Taylor, Carthage, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Max H. Slate and Murielle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents, brothers, Edwin G. Slate and Max E. Slate, Sr., and a sister, Genevieve Slate Peer all died previously.
At Terry’s request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY.
