The Great New York State Food & Wine Festival canceled, alternative “Food & Beverage Day in the Islands” event planned

CLAYTON, NY – The Great New York State Food & Wine Festival has been canceled again this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Instead, organizers are planning a Food & Beverage Day in the Islands on June 12, 2021, from 11am-5pm.

Food & Beverage Day in the Islands will be a self-guided tour taking participants to 6 “anchor” venues throughout the Islands. The “anchors” include Antique Boat Museum, Clayton Distillery, Coyote Moon Vineyards, Northern Flow Vineyards, Thousand Islands Winery and Wood Boat Brewery.  In addition to these venues, approximately 15-20 food and beverage vendors from across New York State will dispersed among the “anchor” locations.

Admission is free of charge, however, standard tasting fees at each location will remain. All New York State COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced.

“We are extremely disappointed that we cannot host the traditional Great New York State Food & Wine Festival again this year due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions. With some capacity restrictions easing, this alternative seems to be the perfect way for us to showcase some of the 1000 Islands award-wining craft beverages and local foods,” said Chris Bogenschutz, President of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce.

The Clayton Chamber of Commerce is still finalizing the list of participating vendors.  A complete list of participants as well as an online map will be made available at www.foodandbeverageday.com.

Vendor and Sponsorship opportunities are available.  Please email tricia@1000islands-clayton.com or call 315-686-3771 for additional information.
