Theodore W. Robare, 76, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Theodore W. Robare, 76, Watertown, passed away Monday morning, July 2, at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Calling hours are 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. The funeral will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the funeral home with Rev. Steven Murray officiating. Immediately following will be the burial at Brookside Cemetery followed by a celebration of life from noon to 2 p.m. at the Town of Watertown Fire Hall Station One.

Mr. Robare is survived by his wife Mary of 56 years; his children Kathie (Kevin) Berghorn, Tylerville, Sally (Mike) Arnold, Adams, twins Michele (Rich) Maitland, Adams Center and Michael (Leslie) Robare, Watertown; his grandchildren Samantha, Shane, Jared, Jacob, Mason, Paige, Austin, Hunter and Joel; great granddaughter Kaylee; two sisters Sylvia (John) Biondollio, FL and Sharon (Gerald “Butch”) Oatman, Carthage; two Aunts Stella Navarra, Watertown and Ida Powell, Albany; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Born Oct. 28, 1941, in Watertown, a son to Roy and Frances Marino Robare, he was educated in the Watertown school system. He served with the US Navy from 1959 to 1962.

Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Robare went to work at Howard Johnson’s as a manager of the motel. Later he became the manager and part owner of the Quality Inn & Suites until his retirement in 2002.

He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and walking his dog “Rosie.”
