Traffic alert: Thompson Boulevard

WATERTOWN, NY — The City of Watertown’s Department of Public Works, working in conjunction with a private contractor, will be performing a cold-in place pavement recycling project on Thompson Boulevard Thursday, July 18, beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Thompson Boulevard between Franklin Street and the Park Circle will be closed to all traffic through 4:00 pm.

This project will involve use of several pieces of heavy equipment operating in sequence to remove the old asphalt roadway, process the material, and then replace the material forming a new base layer of pavement.

Public Works crews will establish detours and advance warning signage in the work area.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes during construction to avoid delays.

If in this area, motorists should exercise extreme caution when encountering work crews and work zones.

The Department of Public Works would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation while this work is completed.
